Hudson River Museum

Looking for a way to immerse yourself more deeply in Hudson River history, or just want to spend a relaxing afternoon brushing up on local lore? For all of our residents, the Hudson River Museum is close to their front door. The Hudson River Museum has a rich collection of exhibits, and whether you’re a science and nature fan, or an ardent history buff, the museum has much to offer those looking for a relaxed day out.

The Hudson River Museum’s planetarium exhibit offers a glimpse into the sky over Yonkers, and holds regular stargazing shows on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It’s also a great escape for families, as the Hudson River Museum has an abundance of exhibits for kids, as well as myriad science-oriented curriculums throughout the year. It also has an observatory that hosts special programs during the winter and spring breaks.

Museum grounds include an actual turn of the century river house decked out in all its rich design. Step back in time and learn about the families who once lived there. Christmas is also a nice time to visit, as the river home gets decorated for the holiday celebrations.
